I'm not sure this board is very active atm but here goes

Hi! I'm Tina proud mommy of Elias (born 7.17.12) and since he's our first, I really want to get into taking pictures so I don't miss anything. I'm new to all this so I need advice on a good camera to start with. I can't do $1000 or anything but somewhere in the $300-700 is doable. If it's a really good one I can save for it if you'd think it's best.

I'm good with photo editing stuff so I thought I'd start taking my own pics as well. So any advice on anything photo related would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I have taken everything on a Canon T1i, not the best camera in the world, but doable if you are good at pictures...I got the f1.8 50mm lens and the standard lens...again, it is a cheaper, but works great for pics...

AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G
AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G
