Hi there everyone, I'm new to the boards and to photography, I am looking for your cc on these pictures, and some ideas for taking pictures of my "almost 5 month old" lol, I don't even know where to start. Thanks everyone!

Hey Sugarbear! Nice to see you over here. I love seeing new pictures of Noah. He's such a CUTIE! You've already got the most important thing... an adorable subject.

Have you ever heard of the rule of thirds? Basically, try not to center your subject, or focal point. Place it in one of the 3rd planes of a picture. So, have your subject placed about 1/3rd into the frame, on any side. Also, be sure to fill your frame with your subject. The 1st one I would crop in closer and the last one as well. The 2nd one is already a great crop.

What photo editing program do you use? All of these pictures could use a bit of lightening.

I think you are off to a great start! You've got some great posing ideas already. I get a lot of ideas from baby magazines and clothing catalogs.

I can't wait to see more.

Great job Bailey!

Amber commented on the few things I noticed, cropping and brightening them for sure...and yeah, the rule of 3rd's is a great one to remember...you could even crop these to give them a little better comp.

thanks Dava for your input, I appreciate all the help I can get. I tried to fix them a little ( I wish I knew how to use the software better, oh well) what do you think?

He is cute!!
The first thing that I tell people to do is to turn off the flash. You will get much better results that way. Take him outside in full shade, or when it is overcast. That is the easiest way to learn, with natural light.

The first one looks a lot better after you edited. Try to have not such a busy background though. Also, crop closer in.

For the second one, when you do profiles, try to get both eyes in the shot. I know, this is hard with wiggly subjects, but it looks great that way.

The third one, not sure what happened but his face has a blue tint?

Keep practicing, you are on the right track and off to a great start!

You are off to a great start, ITA!

The first one looks tons better, great crop...the 3rd one, yeah, I see a blue tint too...I would also turn the color down a bit in his eyes, they're a little too bright for selective coloring, IMO.

Can't wait to see more, girl!
