Here are a couple new ones of Jonas. As always CC appreciated.
I still have a couple more to edit....but I think my eyes are starting to cross.
Thanks for looking!

Those are great...that first one is cracking me up!!! The only thing I notice are the shadows in the 2nd one, but they're still nothing big.

I KWYM about your eyes starting to cross...I'm still proofing the wedding shots I took, I'm a little over halfway done and ugh, I can't get done.

I'm going to be honest.
I love the pictures but i hate the diaper thing.
I have a personal pet peeve of nice portrait style shots in disposable diapers..
i dont know why it just cheapens a shot IMO.
I think he would look darling if you used a towel sort of cloth diaper or a regular cloth diaper.

just me though I'm also the weirdo that hates the colour in black and white thing.

I don't think you're weird. I also much, much prefer a cloth diap shot. I just dont own any cloth diaps. Probably would have been better overall to have just shot him dressed, but my kid is so rarely dressed these days.

You know come to think of it, Im usually not all that keen on the selective color and black&white. Its very rare that I think the subject actually deserves it.

Oh my gosh he is so cute!! I think the first one is perfect!

For the second one, the lighting is a little harsh on his face I think. I do agree with the cloth diaper thing, but I don't think the sposie looks that bad.

Thanks for the comments guys! You all are totally right about the lighting in the second one. Then again, I wasn't expecting him to stand up in the basket either. Silly mommy!
One final one that I finished up tonight. I think there's a bit too much shadow on one side, but its probably the sharpest one of the whole shoot. I wish all my shots would come out as sharp as I *think* they are when Im shooting.

Ha ha ha... his expressions in those basket ones are cracking me up. Good job on the lighting. I think you've got some nice ones. I absolutely LOVE the last one you posted. It'd be a killer BW!

Ohhh, I love the last one too...I see the "dark side" you're talking about on that one, but it doesn't bother me, the shot is awesome!!!

I will have to try a BW conversion. I tried last night while editting it and I just wasn't getting the results I wanted.

Oh I really like the last one too. I think the shadowy part provides some dimension! Great job!

I used an action I have to convert the last one. Wow! LOVE it! I can take it down though if you want me to. Oh, I also used the dodge tool on the darker side and on the retina of the eye.

the expressions are cute.

My CC would be that the light coming from behind/side are very is very distracting and has blown out in places on the face.

And the rest of the face is dark. I would like to see more of the eyes, they are too dark for my taste.

The last one I like better. I like the dramatic shadowing.

BUT I am wondering if you were going for high key lighting with the white background or not? I really like the b&w conversion.

Thanks for the comments and critiques guys!

Jenn, As of yet Im still just trying to play with my lights to find out what works, and what doesnt. Thanks all the other comments though, it gives me an idea of what to keep in mind during my next shoot. Which hopefully will be today.

Very nice convert, Amber. Dodging that eye really makes a world of difference. Im still playing around with trying to get that technique right.
