Canon PowerShot A530?
I'm not taking "professional" pictures, but I take lots of family pics and want them to come out better than they do now.

OK, so I finally remembered the name of my old camera, a Casio QV-2900 UX, did I make a huge mistake? I miss it!

I gave it away to my friend for FREE because I got this new one as a gift, and upon first using it, I thought it was better. It was smaller and lighter too.

I don't own one, but it's a 5mp. It wouldn't do too bad. I like the Canon Powershot A640. It's 10mp but it's a little pricier than the one you mentioned. It runs between 350-399. I have actually seen pictures that were taken with it and they're great. It was rated 7.6 out of 10.

Yeah, $350.00 is too much for us.

Here are some pics taken with the Canon PS...

This is the one I have, it has 5.2 MP resolution and pictures still come out grainy sometimes. I've fiddled around with everything, the SO, the flash, I tried the portrait setting to make the background come out softer than the subject, but it NEVER happens.

Sure! Although, I guess I'm more of a P&S kinda girl, I'm not really looking into the specialty cameras yet, well, unless they're cheap enough, then I can learn.
