I was at Costco today shopping and saw this...is this what some of you are using for your photos or is it something else? I am just trying to figure out what I will be putting on my Christmas list this year!!

I think a lot of girls use elements, some use paintshop, I use photoshop cs2. It's very pricey, but since I have my own business, I purchased it for that. Elements is a good program as well, it has templates and things and is a little easier to use than photoshop.

Considering I am a beginner, would Elements be better or should I just ask for the CS2? BTW what does CS2 stand for??

it's great for beginners and has some built in tutorials. The CS stands for Creative Suite and the 2 is because it's the second version =)

I use Elements 4 right now. Will be upgrading to 5. CS2 has some additional features, its the pro version, but elements really has a lot of nice utilities and will cover most of the basics. Its a great starter program.

I have PSE 3, but I hae the plug ins so I have curves and the gradient filter. It does everything that I want it to do, so I"m content. PSCS2 has a learning curve from what I understand, and I would rather try and get better pics SOOC and focus (no pun intended) on that.

I haven't heard enough about elements 5 to think about upgrading, but my actions I have for PSE3 won't work, or my plug in, so I will probably keep what i've got.

Oh, its the actions and plugins that make upgrading to 5 worth it for me. I only have the standard 4 with nothing added.
