Those are awesome I love them. You think a 7month old is bad trying take pictures of a 18month old. [/b]
Thanks everyone! Heather- LOL I totally know what you mean, I have a two and a half year old that absolutely will not sit still for a picture-so I don't even attempt. Lala- For lighting on the white background, I used a B800 flash unit with a large softbox. I just scaled down the power to 1/8th I believe(anything above 1/2 power was extremely bright). There are two skylights in the ceiling which gave pretty good back lighting too. With the black background, I only used the single B800 with the softbox. A pro once told me that he only shoots the black backgrounds in a room with no windows so that the black muslin isn't 'faded' looking in the shots(I was going for pitch black). I tried it and it really did turn out much better than in my living room where the skylights are(although it might have been better with two flash units to prevent the harsh shadows). Both backdrops were 'muslin' although they are quite thin and bed sheets would have probably worked just as well. My camera is the Canon Rebel XTi, I love but I've been having a lot of focusing issues with the kit lens-ugh-I can't wait to get more lenses. I shot these in Tv (shutter mode) at around 1/100 and 400 ISO(probably could have gone lower). Hope I've helped somehow. Here's another pic...I couldn't resist! ~this was taken with flash too, I just scale down the power so that it doesn't look like the typical flash.--Less is More!
