Well here is my question, how soon after a D&C can one get pregnant? Are you just a fertile as you are after you have a miscarriage? Why I am asking because the other day I took a pregnancy test and got a very faint positive then I took another one the next day and nothing. Today I went to the washroom and I had alittle brownish blood on the toilet paper, then when I went back again about an hour later nothing. I had the D&C March 27, things went okay I only bled for alittle bit after only a couple days. I have no cramps no nothing today that I usually have when I have my period. SO I am kinda confused.

I am so sorry for your loss. It really is hard to say in this case. HcG levels can take longer to dip after a D&C than after a natural mc...since falling HcG is often what triggers a natural mc. It is totally possible that you could have had detectable levels of HcG after a D&C. I am also not sure how far along you were, so that makes it harder to say what your #'s might have been at. I would ask your Dr...and if your HcG levels were monitored, they should be able to tell you if it is likely residual HcG or not.

I guess I should of added that I did have my hcg levels tested after the D&C and they had gone down to zero

is it possible that the positive was actually an evaporation line??? Sometimes evaporation lines can be mistaken for faint positives. I would go to your doctor and get a blood test done so they can see if you DO have any hcg in your system. If your level had gone down to zero after your D&C, the presence of HCG would indicate a new pregnancy. I would also do another test in a couple of days to see what that result is - hcg doubles every 2-3 days, so if there was just a small level in your system, that could be why the 2nd test was negative. The most definate way to find out though, is to have blood tests drawn...

((hugs)) let us know what happens

Not much I can add to what Beckie and Emma said. I'm sorry for your loss. I've seen you in our playroom, so you'll probably recognize several ladies over here. Have you had a period yet? I think the best advice is to call your doc and let them know what's going on. They might want to do bloodwork or take a look to see what's going on.

I am so very sorry for your loss(((hugs)))
Same as what Beckie and Emma said but I wanted to ask...Have you had a your first full af since d&c?
I used HPT and stopped testing BFP at 18 days post d&c after being 17w pg.

Most dr say to wait till first af to have unprotected sex as it allows a fresh lineing as well as better dateing.
As for fertile I have had 5 m/c last 2 at 17w and lost 7 babies in total...and I have gotten pg FIRST cycle 4x after each m/c with 3 haveing had emerg d&c. My 4th m/c was 18 months ago and I got pg 7w later after emerg d&c and a blood tranfusion. I had a healthy full term baby boy but lost his twin at 9w 4d.
I was told to wait till first af since d&c 4 weeks ago.
