A host started this and asked us to pass it along. It's a fun way to get to know each other a little better. Pick one of your favorite movie quotes, put it in your Profile Title (the text under your avatar pic), and then tell us what movie it's from and why you chose it.

--------------------------------------

Mine is from "10 Things I Hate About You". I love Kat! She's so me in high school. Here's the rest of the scene:

Ms. Perky: So, I hear you were terrorizing Mr. Morgan's class... again.
Kat Stratford: Expressing my opinion is not a terrorist action.
Ms. Perky: The way you expressed your opinion to Bobby Ridgeway? By the way, his testicle retrieval operation went quite well, in case you're interested.
Kat Stratford: I still maintain that he kicked himself in the balls.

Mine is from Sense & Sensibility:

[after Marianne has first met Willougby]
Elinor Dashwood: Marianne, you must change or you will catch a cold.
Marianne: What care I for colds when there is such a man.
Elinor Dashwood: You will care very much when your nose swells up.
Marianne: You are right. Help me, Elinor.

I don't have a specific quote but here are a few of my faves:

Lord of the Rings:
Arwen: "I would rather spend one lifetime with you then face all the Ages of this world alone."

One of the sweetest lines from the movie!

Frodo: "I can't do this, Sam."
Sam: "I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo, the ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. 'Cause sometimes you didn't want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How can the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end it's only a passing thing. A shadow even darkness must pass. A new day will come and when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you, that meant something even if you were to small to understand why. But I think Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folks in those stories had lots of chances in turning back only they didn't. They kept going because they were holding onto to something."
Frodo: "What are we holding onto, Sam?"
Sam: "That there's some good left in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for."

A very suiting one for our board
Galadriel: "Even the smallest person can change the course of the future."

Harry Potter:

"Just because you've got the emotional range of a teaspoon doesn't mean we all have." <- Hermonie

"We're with you whatever happens." <- Ron

"It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live."
"It’s the unknown we fear when we look upon death and darkness, nothing more."
“Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all, those who live without love. By returning, you may ensure that fewer souls are maimed, fewer families are torn apart. If that seems to you a worthy goal, then we say good-bye for the present.” <- Dumbledore

I'll stop now..

2 from Kung Fu Panda:

One I like the best - film is from 2008 but this qoute is older:

"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present. "

- I like it becouse it is reminder that we have to take the best from today, from what we have now (in thinking about the past or the future somehow we forget to live and enjoy in now).

...

"Oogway: My friend, the panda will never fulfill his destiny, nor you yours until you let go of the illusion of control.
Shifu: Illusion?
Oogway: Yes.
[points at peach tree]
Oogway: Look at this tree, Shifu: I cannot make it blossom when it suits me nor make it bear fruit before its time.
Shifu: But there are things we *can* control: I can control when the fruit will fall, I can control where to plant the seed: that is no illusion, Master!
Oogway: Ah, yes. But no matter what you do, that seed will grow to be a peach tree. You may wish for an apple or an orange, but you will get a peach.
Shifu: But a peach cannot defeat Tai Lung!
Oogway: Maybe it can, if you are willing to guide, to nurture it, to believe in it.
Shifu: But how? How? I need your help, master.
Oogway: No, you just need to believe. Promise me, Shifu, promise me you will believe. "

Admiral Kirk (William Shatner) in 'Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan' : How to deal with death is at least as important as how to deal with life.

"I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries."
Ten Monopoly dollars to the person who guesses my movie........

my second favorite movie quote is from Office Space:
Peter Gibbons: The thing is, Bob, it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.
Bob Porter: Don't... don't care?
Peter Gibbons: It's a problem of motivation, all right? Now if I work my butt off and Initech ships a few extra units, I don't see another dime; so where's the motivation? And here's something else, Bob: I have eight different bosses right now.
Bob Slydell: I beg your pardon?
Peter Gibbons: Eight bosses.
Bob Slydell: Eight?
Peter Gibbons: Eight, Bob. So that means that when I make a mistake, I have eight different people coming by to tell me about it. That's my only real motivation is not to be hassled; that, and the fear of losing my job. But you know, Bob, that will only make someone work just hard enough not to get fired.
