I went in for my retrieval this morning and I ovulated on my own so my IVF cycle was canceled. I am so disappointed and disheartened. The doctor said they only have about one patient a year who "breaks through" the lupron and ovulates on their own. Guess I was that person this year.

He also said I need to let the meds get out of my body before we can try again, which won't be until January, which seems a little long to me. I'm going to call my IVF nurse when I get AF (hopefully in about 10 days) and find out if we have to wait one cycle or two.

More disappointment. I feel like it never ends. I am so tired of being the girl who's crying when she leaves the doctor's office.

I'm so sorry sweetie. You've had so much disappointment already and now to find out you're on hold again has got to be frustrating. Can you still try on your own while you wait for the meds to clear? Or maybe just letting your body have a break from meds and everything will help January's attempt be successful. Hang in there!

I'm so sorry Nicole. I know how hard it is to wait. Time goes so slowly when you want it so bad.

I am sorry hun. That stinks! I hate that I understand so little about this - so I really don't have anything educated to add. I don't understand why you would have to wait I guess...since the point is to get you pg in the first place, it doesn't make sense to me....but I know there has to be reasons behind it.

Hang in there - the waiting can be brutal.
