It's been crazy busy around here. Now that things are finally calming down, I'll be here more often.

A quick update on us. DH and I had a really great Christmas for most of it. Today his brother nearly ruined it for us, but we will survive. His brother and his wife decided that today at dinner was the best time to announce that they are expecting again. Their first is only 8 months old, they don't have a home (all three are living in one bedroom at my IL's) they aren't stable emotionally or financially, and neither of them was ready to be a parent the first time around (even though we now know they were TTC). They honestly cannot get through a single day without needing help at least 50% of the time with the baby, and now there is another one on the way. It just sucks.

We decided that was kind of the straw that broke the camels back so to speak. We are going to stop TTC for now, and focus on getting healthy, losing weight (both of us.....probably 50 pounds each (he wants to lose 80, but I think that's too much for him) and saving up some money. Once we get to our goal weights and have our goal in savings ($5000) then we will consider trying again, but don't know if we even will then. Three years of TTC and 5 losses have taken their toll on us in a big way.

Again, now that Christmas is over (almost anyway!) and things are settling down, I'll be here more often.

Glad to hear things went alright yesterday. I saw your post in TTCAL, I think it may be a good idea to take a break, destress, and get healthy. We're on a break ourselves. It feels so nice to not have to worry at the moment.

Did the kids have a nice Christmas?

They had a great Christmas. Matt worked a ton of overtime to make sure of that, and then their deadbeat father actually came through and sent gifts too. Some of them weren't so great.....for example, he sent pre-owned games for a XBox360. I don't have a problem with the pre-owned part, but they don't have a 360, and he knew that. I could tell how excited they were just that he sent something though.

I'm glad they had a nice Christmas. Sorry, that he sent gifts they couldn't use though.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble with the BIL and SIL, some people just don't know when to be more careful. Drives me batty.

Getting healthy is an awesome first step! I'd definitely encourage you to try again for at least a little while when you guys reach your goals! I'll even be a cheer leader if you want !!!

I'm sure I will try again. And even now, we aren't trying, but we aren't preventing. I don't believe in using BC and he has a latex allergy. lol Kind of limits our options. A surprise BFP would be very welcome of course, and we hope that once we hit our goals maybe it will be as easy for me to get pregnant as it was the first time around (I was preventing then. She was definitely meant to be!) I am trying to mentally prepare myself for the fact that I just might not be meant to have anymore children.

I know taking a break is a hard decision but I hope it helps you to be lesses stressed. That would be great to get a surprise BFP though. Take care of yourself and keep us updated.
