My SIL was able to get pg 2 years ago (1st Try!) but lost her baby at 10w due to s subchorionic bleed She has been suffering from infertility since. She has had a water sono...the dye test...clomid...etc. But just can't get pg. And her DH checks out a-ok

She is seeing a new RE and he is concerned about a fibroid she has in her uterus. It is messering .8cm big. Does anyone know if having a fibroid can keep you from GETTING pg?

She is going in for an MRI next week so the RE can get more info on the fibriod...he wants to remove it.

I have always had a pretty easy time getting pg...just not staying pg so I am not sure about all of this. I am just worried about her, KWIM. We talk alot and she comes to me of advise b/c I am very open about my losses. She lost her baby a week before I had my 2nd m/c.

I wasn't sure, so I googled it. Here is what I found: Infertility Issues: Uterine Fibroids

****UPDATED******

My SIL had the MRI and everything so the specialist could learn more about the depth and location of the fibroid. He say without a doubt this is what is causing her infertility. The location of it is blocking any babies from properly implanting in her uterus. He also said he does not doubt the fibroid is what caused her loss b/c the placent had no room to grow.

He is going to schedule SIl for surgery to remove the fibroid. But he is not able to do it laprosopicaly. He is going to have to cut her like a c/s I am so disappointed about this b/c it has more complications that go along with it. And the doctor is NOT pro VBAC so when my SIL does have children she will need c/s. I had a c/s with Kaylie and it is not bad but it is also not ideal. After having a VBAC with Scott I see how much better it is for baby and mom!

BUT the good news is after the surgery he thinks she should easly get pg I am so excited for SIL and her DH!!!
