Hi everyone.

I had a D&C in March, I got pregnant again after my 1st period and I think I have had a mc today? I don't really know what to look for so I am unsure if it is it iykwim?

This is graphic so please don't read on if it will upset you... The bleeding started 2 days ago and today is the 3rd day, it got heavier every time I went to the loo. It hasn't been that painful just like a normal period. Today there was what looked like a clot about 2cm big, when I wiped it it had a bean looking thing about the size of my little finger nail and a long tissue type of thing. I looked up pics on the net or a 6 week embryo and they are attached to a cord and looked very much like what I had passed.... Then I thought about the clot, I guess it could also have been a sack... Does the sack come out and can you see that cord type thing along with the embryo?

I had a blood test today before I passed this and I got a referral for a scan tomorrow but I am not going to be expecting anything now after what I have passed. Has anyone passed anything like this which they know was 'not' the embryo???

I am so sorry for your losses. When I naturally m/c at 5 1/2 weeks I saw what looked like a shrivled grape (slightly bigger than a raisin) that was sort of grayish in color. Sounds like what you saw was the baby...probably just covered in more blood than when I saw mine so it looked like a clot but if there was a cord then most likely it was.

it should resemble that, but will be small, like 1/4 of an inch small. It does sound like you passed the baby. HUGS sweetie, I'm sorry.

My only natural miscarriage was at 8 weeks, and there's no mistaking the baby at that point at all.

(((HUGS))) I am sorry for your losses.

I had 2 natural early m/c both right about 6w and what I passed were large clots. I never really looked at them to closely b/c I was to scared.

Thanks so much for your responses, they are very helpful.

My temp is back down to 36.7 I don't even feel like I want to go to the scan.... It's like rubbing salt into the wound! I'm also bleeding heavy like a normal period now...... Far out, back where I started but with 7 more kilos of weight (just to rub it in further) I have even convinced myself that I don't want a baby now (not for ages anyway) even though it was a dream of our for the past 3 years.... God I am so lost.....

Thanks again girls

I am so sorry for your loss! Losing a baby was the hardest thing by far I ever had to go through. And each consecutive loss, well, it was just heartbreaking. I remember most the loss where I was at work and passed the baby in the toilet... I just about lost my mind. With the sac, and the fact it's being lost through miscarriage, what you see (according to the doctor I spoke with) is usually the sac and placenta, since the baby is so small and delicate it is usually lost in the process.

Be good to yourself, give yourself permission to feel any way that you do about your loss as well as time to heal. I don't think anyone ever "gets over it", but with time it does get easier. In the meantime, we are here & have been through it all, and are good listeners any time you need to scream, vent or cry!

Thank you to all the girls who replied to this thread. After it sunk in what was happening I was sure that what I saw was a cord and the embryo, The long tissue type of thing I described was obviously the cord... In fact I even saw the 2 little balck dots where the eyes would have been and it really looked like the pics on the net of a 6 week old embryo. I am sorry about TMI in the whole thread! But I do hope it helps someone else in the future who is concerned about what they are looking at...

Anyway I am back in the ttc game but will be taking it easy for a while and not worrying too much about getting pregnant straight away but rather working on getting back into shape.

Thanks again everyone
