So we all know everyone here has problems staying pregnant; but does anyone else also have problems getting pregnant?

Interestingly enough I got married at 18 and suffered infertility. After I divorced i adopted two boys as a single parent. Then I aquired a "Friend with benefits" and got on the pill. The first month I was on them I concieved my first daughter.

After I got married we did infertility treatment. We quit when I wasn't ovulating on the entry level medications. Six months later I was pregnant with Scarlett (my DD was seven). When Scarlett was 5 months old I concieved, From that point I concieved four times consecutively with three losses and my current pregnancy. We weren't TTC as we had no cycle to work with.

I guess the answer is technically YES and NO.

I had lots of trouble getting pregnant - first it was a thyroid hormone imbalance, which was corrected with meds. Then, it was a blocked Fallopian tube, which was corrected with surgery. Then I couldn't seem to conceive unless it was via IUI, but we lost all those pgcys (4). Doctors then gave me a 1-2% chance of ever having a baby on my own without IVF + PGD, so we went that route which was finally successful. So, I didn't seem to have many problems getting pg, just staying pg Seemed like someone up there didn't want me to have a baby! (but I kept trying!)

I have PCOS and was annovulatory. We conceived Ethan on our first round of Femara. After we lost him, we tried the Femara again but had no luck after 3 rounds. So we did IUI with injectible medications. The medications were extemely hard on my body. I developed very severe Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome and was very nearly hospitalized. But I got pregnant, with triplets. Like many higher order multiple pregnancies, that did not work out very well and we lost two of the babies at 14 weeks. Luckily Baby A survived, and he is due in about 6 weeks.

After all of that, we decided we are done ttc. I always wanted a big family, but we just cannot risk getting pregnant with multiples again because I could not survive another loss.

In addition to RPL, I am also semi-annovulatory...meaning I can O on my own just not every month. It didn't used to be that way. I suspect that my left tube is blocked. I going to bring this up at my next appointment.
