Since it's been on my mind lately:

Have you known anyone with cancer? Does it run in your family?

I had a great aunt and uncle with lung cancer and I have a great uncle right now fighting Colan cancer. My mom had a sort of female cancer. I know there is more, but I don't remember it all.

I'm surrounded by cancer.

Both of my grandparents died from a type of cancer (grandma has a brain tumour and was gone in less than 4wks and my grandpa had stomach cancer). MIL is in remission from stage 4 lung cancer from 3yrs ago (but going through some tests because there's a chance it's back but on her adrenal gland this time). MIL also had skin cancer a few years ago. DH's aunt has breast cancer (MIL's sister).

I HATE cancer and what it does to a person and to their family.

I lost a Grandmother to cancer several years ago, and we lost DH's uncle soon after Grace was born. I also lost a friend to bone cancer about 6 months ago. I agree with Nykoal, cancer is terrifying and awful.

I am also surrounded by cancer. Both my grammas died from cancer. My sister might have a skin cancer. 90% of Joey's little buddies are cancer kids. Most of the people I know online have either cancer or Histio. And I'd say at least 50% of my friends are cancer or histio parents and family... at least and thats a low guess. I'd also say about 95% of my FB friends are oncology families...

I ate cancer, histio, chemo, etc...

Like Traci, I "know" a lot of oncology families online and met several at the Hike.

Family: I have a lot of great aunts and uncles that has passed away from cancer. DH's gma has lung cancer and my four year old niece might have skin cancer.

I have had cancer three times, and all of my cousins have had some type of cancer. My brother is the only one to escape the nastiness so far. One of my closest friends I grew up with and remained friends with through everything died two years ago from cancer. Cancer is a terrible disease, BUT my children learned to be flexible and roll with the flow, and to keep a positive outlook! The last bout I had when Abbi was 1, I was told I had about four months, yet here I sit!
