The first stage of grief is said to be:

Quote:
1. SHOCK & DENIAL-
You will probably react to learning of the loss with numbed disbelief. You may deny the reality of the loss at some level, in order to avoid the pain. Shock provides emotional protection from being overwhelmed all at once. This may last for weeks.
7 STAGES OF GRIEF

Did you/do you feel this way? Talk to us about it.

I absolutely went through this. I used to have to take out the memorial box they gave me after Sophie because at times I was convinced I'd never been pregnant in the first place, let alone gone through 10 hours of labor to have Sophie.

I definitely went through this with two of the four. In fact, I still find myself asking "Am I SURE" sometimes.

I didn't really go through this with the first ones, but with this one definitely. I still am in shock, I still have a hard time believing it.
Especially missed miscarriages are supposed to be pretty rare and both of my previous ones just happened so quickly and obviously... I really thought I was fine when they checked my cervix and said it was closed. I can't believe it's been over for 2 weeks
