I worked for them for over 2 years. While I was there a massive tornado tore down about 2 dozen sprint towers. One day a guy calls and this was the conversation.

Me: "thanks for calling sprint how can I help you?"
Guy: " My cell phone's not working."
Me: "I'm sorry to hear that, can I get your number?"
guy: "xxx-xxx-xxxx"
Me: "Thanks sir. I see here that you guys had a tornado this morning? Several of our towers were knocked over and that's causing the network to be spotty."
guy: "I know the tower's knocked down, it's in my field. But I want to know why it's not working."
.....

it took me 35 minutes to convince the guy that we coudln't fix the tower from the office.

lesson to learn? If your service isn't restore in a few hours, you can assume something's fallen to the ground and probably won't work for a while.
