I think this is the stupidest, most insensitive thing someone made up for breast cancer awareness. But, just like the bra a couple of years ago and the placement of a handbag last year, they have another "funny" lets trick the men thing going on this year...Here is the email I got.

Quote:
Ok pretty ladies, it's that time of year again, in support of breast cancer awareness!! So we all remember last years game of writing your bra color as your status?.....or the way we like to have our handbag handy? Remember last year so many people took part that it made national news and, the constant updating of status reminded everyone why we're doing this and helped raise awareness!! Do NOT tell any males what the status' mean, keep them guessing!! And please copy and paste (in a message )this to all your female friends to see if we can make a bigger fuss this year than last year!!! I did my part... now YOUR turn ! Go on ladies...and let's have all the males guessing! .. It's time to confuse the men again (not that its really that hard to do ) Everyone knows it makes their brains work wonders on what we're talkin about!! The idea is to choose the month you were born and the day you were born. Pass this on to the GIRLS ONLY and lets see how far it reaches around. The last one about the bra went round all over the world. So you'll write... I'm (your birth month) weeks and I'm craving (your birth date)!!! as your status. Example: Feb 14th: I'm 2 weeks and craving Chocolate mints!!anuary-1week, Febuary-2 weeks, March-3 weeks, April-4 weeks, May-8 weeks,une-9 weeks, July-10 weeks, August-12 weeks, September-13 weeks, October-14 weeks, November-16 weeks, December-18 weeks. Days of the month: 1-Skittles, 2-Starburst, 3-Kit-Kat, 4-M&M's, 5-Galaxy, 6-Crunchie, 7-Dairy Milk, 8-Lollipop, 9-Peanut Butter Cups, 10-Meat Balls, 11-Twizzlers, 12-Bubble Gum, 13-Hershey's Kisses, 14-Chocolate Mints, 15-Twix, 16-Resse's Fastbreak, 17-Fudge, 18-Cherryello, 19-Milkyway, 20-Pickels, 21-Creme Eggs, 22-Skittles, 23-Gummy Bears, 24-Gummy Worms, 25-Strawberry Pop Tarts, 26-Starburst, 27-Mini Eggs, 28-Kit-Kat Chunky, 29-Double Chocolate Chip Crunchy Cookies, 30-Smarties, 31-Chocolate Cake. Have Fun!!!

I ditto that. Seriously, I jump between being upset and pissed off about it. I've already done a rant. Tried to be as cryptic as I could, because I didn't want to ruin the fun... but I'd love to go on and tell everyone who's partaking just what they do to anyone who's suffered a miscarriage when ever they post it.

I have a friend that has suffered from four miscarriages post the "I am 9 weeks and craving ..." status. Everyone thinks it's a real pregnancy announcement and is thrilled for her and congratulating her. I really don't understand why she would play along with this "game."

I'm sorely tempted to reply to these statuses with "I *should* be 11 weeks, and I *should* be craving sour patch kids, but my baby died."

Dear Facebook Friends.

I adore your dedication to promoting awareness for things. However, the most recent thing of weeks and candy is doing more harm. 4-12 weeks and craving something is a hurtful to someone who's lost a child, be it to miscarriage, stillbirth or infant loss. You have at least one friend who's suffered miscarriages, you are my friend and I have had several. So before you follow along with the current fad, please take a moment to think of the people that this hurts.

That's what I just put up. I had posted about it before and said "If I said I was 10 weeks and craving something my family and friends would flip out". I got a dozen replies to "you're freaking right we'd flip out!"

Don't think any one in my family has participated, but I was up to 155 friends out of 300 who'd partaken as of yesterday. People just don't freaking worry about people's feelings.

** wow I totally stopped my tangent midsentence there. LOL

None of these stupid fads actually help the cause of breast cancer. It's just so women can giggle as they confuse all the men. Basically, they are using the suffering others, (breast cancer patients) to get a laugh. With out the cancer awareness, women would not post the color of their bra or where their purse is because well people would look down on them and call them sluts or other derogatory names. But since it's linked to cancer awareness, its ok. It reminds me of the mean girls quote "Halloween is the one holiday where a girl can dress up as a complete **** and not be judged for it."

So many people on my friends list think that posting the color of their bra was enough to raise awareness for breast cancer. It's not. If they want to do something, then go donate some money to the cause.

Also, I thought the bra fad was very insensitive. There are many women who have had breast cancer that can no longer wear a bra due to a double masectomy.

You are so very right! I've never participated in any of them, I think they're foolish and immature. I'll happily post the " I love someone with said disease" in my status, because it's not confusing. I confused the HELL out of my facebook today, 99% of them had no idea I'd ever had a miscarriage let alone 8. I've gotten a few apologies to my inbox too.

Best part to my rant, our Meagan was one of the first to like it. She might have been first, but I didn't notice until two ppl had. yay meagan!

I had a very "triggering" moment on facebook b/c of this. I am so tempted to say I should be x weeks or have an x month old, but instead I'm putting on a happy face every day to try to keep from feeling so empty and alone.

I was really irritated b/c one lady that posted it didn't announce until the x weeks with her pregnancy that ended up in her status. AND it was very similar to how she announced her pregnancy with them. I was very, and still am upset.

Nope I had two pop up this morning from my zynga game friends who dont know me. Next actual friend who does it gets

"I should have twin 5.5 year old boys and should be craving a martini
I should have a 2.75 year old girl and be craving water tea from a pink princess teapot
I should have twin 1 year old girls and should be craving a full nights sleep.
Instead I'm childless and mourning their losses and craving a baby

Was this really a good chain letter to follow?"

I say post it anyways as a status. Or is there a chain letter about pregnancy loss? Kind of like the cancer one?

I've never seen one for pregnancy loss.

My family doesn't know about the last loss, I kept quiet about it, or I would put it as a status.
