Can you believe it? RPL's little warrior, Joey, is ELEVEN MONTHS post-transplant today! Way to go, little man! We knew you could do it! I think I speak for everyone when I say we are so proud of how strong and courageous you (and your mommy) are!

Joey kind of gets two birthdays now. His real one, and then the new one that his donor gave him.

My high school history teacher received a bmt when I was in elementary school, back when they were still pretty new. Since then he no longer counts his original birthday, only the day he received his cells. He turned 7 when we were in his class, so we threw him a huge party That was 11 years ago. 18 years post transplant, you'd never know he was ever sick.
