My step-grampa (we called our grampa's "PapPap")- was a gardener, was funny & drank beer & added salt to it
My grandma- was always complaining & drank beer with salt added to it
nice memories/stories huh? lol
PapPap (mom's biological dad)- lost all his fingers but his thumbs in a machine accident
Step-grandma- made the best bite sized lady fingers & one time she blew up her kitchen because she was smoking while on oxygen. She was ok. But man, close call
Grandma- was so sweet, loved sports & always called me a stinker
Grampa- I didn't know him, I think I saw him when I was an infant 1 or 2 times & that was it until we buried him.
Gram: I feel so bad for her right now. She's basically a shut-in living with my mom. She cannot drive and has a hard time getting around. The only people her age she gets to see are mom's neighbors who are happily married (and I'm sure just remind her of what she can't have.)
Grampa: My grampa was a truck driver. One afternoon while out on the road, he started not feeling well. He told dispatch that he wasn't feeling well and that he was getting a hotel for the day/that night (and that his load would be late.) The cleaning staff found him the next morning. He'd had a heart attack. Now, my dad's a truck driver with health issues and I'm terrified he'll meet a similar fate.
Thanks to Jaidynsmum for my siggy!
