has anyone done this?

can anyone share some insight into it for me?

It looks like it could be a few months off the pill, and when I mentioned temping to DF, he was intrigued (even if it's a PITA for me) because bcp of anykind kills my sex drive. I don't know if I trust myself enough to know my body to not end up knocked up... but I could use spermacide and the pull and pray during the lead up to my fertile times and the days after and just abstain during the peak times.... right?

Someone help me. I desperately want a baby, but I want my wedding first! Not to mention I get knocked up I'd have to go back to Appleton alone with the baby because there's absolutely zero way for him to be able to work his job when he can't sleep due to a crying baby (he'd end up hurt or dead from being inattentive). And we need at least four more jobs on the road before we'll have enough saved for us to try (we will start trying when he chooses the last job, I can be pregnant while he's working, just no munchikin).

I haven't done it to prevent but I do want to caution that it can take a couple of cycles to really know you're body and it's signs. My concern for you would be that temping should be done at the same time each day immediately after at least 3 hours of sleep. With your insomnia, would that be possible?

We have used NFP for years to TTA. Like Augie said it takes a few cycles to really get to know your fertile times. The best place you can get information is the NFP/FAM board. I am on that board, but the other ladies there are better at explaining things than I am.

yes augie since stating next week I go to bed when he goes to work, and get up after lunch. As close to a regular bed time as I'll ever have.

When Bryan & I were about to be married. We were offered counseling through a couple in the church to make sure we were "ready" to be married. Anyways, the couple we got talked about what our plans of TTC & preventing, etc. Because of it being through the Catholic church, BC was considered a BIG no-no. We already didn't live by the Catholic books & lived together before marriage, so we didn't care but the couple said they used the temping method to prevent pregnancy. When I wasn't on BC, we used condoms with spermicide to cover our bases. Isn't it 4 days prior to O, you are fertile? I personally think just the temping method alone is risky. Then again, I O sometime between cd14-17- that's 4 days right there & we would have to abstain starting on cd10 & then possibly through cd18- that's a whole week out & then you're out when AF arrives too. DH would go crazy without BDing that much!

lol if i feel up to it we dtd when AF is here. usually it's so heavy I want to hide.

I still O on the pill. the eggs are just dudded from the hormones, and don't stick. Or that's the theroy since I've not had even a chemical this time around. I O pretty much like clockwork, the stabbing starts on CD14 and lasts a few hours.

I dunno what we'll do. I may as well chart while I'm not on the pill so I can get a hand on how to do it when the time comes.

I'm ok with spermacide (I say this until I try using it, then we'll see lol) but condoms are fully out. He says he'll go with out before he'll use em.
