and another likes not being bombarded with questions from everyone IRL, so I'll talk here. PRIDE training for foster parenting is less than a month away! I DO want to talk about it, so if you have any questions, ask me here!

Oh Augie, I am BEYOND excited for you!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOT!!!!!!!!

A friend of mine fostered, fell in love with the kids, adopted them... then repeated this process... she has some amazing stories that make me cry every time. She adopted two older kids the first time, a third younger child, then twin babies. The older kids were so damaged, they had seen nothing but abuse and hardship, but she was the right mommy for them. I just have to share this story because it's Christmas, and she reminds me of you Augie (full of heart). I should explain she is a fire chief. Close to Christmas, she arranged with some firefighters to have a Santa visit at the station. One firefighter dressed up like Santa. They prepared a letter in advance, signed by Santa and all the elves (the rest of the firefighters), apologizing for all the Christmases that Santa could not find their house because they moved around so frequently... everyone was briefed and prepared for the fury of the little ones... and they were furious at first, but after they were able to express their anger at Santa, and heard him and all the elves apologize, they forgave him, and for the first time, were able to accept the magic of Christmas into their lives. I'm crying again... LOL

Augie, you and Chris are going to be the best parents ever!
