I went in for my annual exam today and talked to my Family practitioner about the miscarriages. She automatically referred me to an RE. I haven't called to make the appointment, but I am SO excited that I will be trying to figure out what caused the miscarriages! Please ladies, tell me how I should start the conversation with the RE...I am new to this. What should I bring with me?

Glad you're going to get some answers.

I don't really have any advice. I got lucky, my ob (who I started seeing after my loss) immediately did testing with any prompting from me.

that's awesome Rachel! I hope the appointment goes well. I've never had to see an RE, my doctor was able to figure out answers from the events prior and following my miscarriages (except for the genetic work ups of course)

Oh Rachel, that is amazing news.

My initial apt was just questions. When were my losses, was there an u/s, was there a HB, what the dates were. From there she sent me down for my blood work, told me what she thought it could be, explained it.

The next apt I had an HSG????? Where they take a camera in to look around and a biopsy.

Then I made another apt for all the results and she explained to me the results of them and what needs to be done.

I had to continue going back to be re checked.

Good luck Tuesday!
