Even though I knew that it would cost money, we decided it was time to find out if we could find out the cause of our miscarriages. I knew that I didn't make my out of pocket maximum yet and would have to pay for part of my testing. Well, I got my EOB from my HSG and they covered the WHOLE THING!!!! I only had to pay the $20 copay! I was absolutely shocked because insurance covered all but the $20 for my initial visit and blood work as well! We also have made our out of pocket maximum for Marsi which means that everything (2 echocardiograms, heart surgery, CT scan) is covered 100%. Even with the cost of the COBRA premium, it is beyond worth it. I am SO thankful that I have insurance that is a Teacher's insurance that starts and ends in August. If it started at the first of the year, we would be paying a lot more, but this is so wonderful.

That's awesome! My insurance is great too. Out of the $14,125.19 for the twins' pregnancy and loss, we only owe $864.67!

Yeah for insurance! As a Canadian I always feel for all of you ladies in America when it comes to health care. I'm happy for you.

Ashley, most of that was the ER/surgery/hospital stay.

Nope, no Union. Almost impossible to get into Unions these days especially in Wi. And his company's insurance was worthless (and they refused to cover me anyway). Hopefully if he takes that course and gets on with the wind farms they will have something decent for insurance. If they do we'll take Reme on with us (he's on his step dad's plan right now) and L will just pay the premium for it. Try and save money for everybody involved.

That or I'll wake up tomorrow and the US will have fully adopted Canada's UHC program with out raising taxes and everybody will be happy. LOL.

between my thyroid and an eventual pregnancy we need to get me some insurance...

Oh I know... but since I've come to the US I seem to have every single possible medical thing go wrong with me... I mean.. two kidney stones in six months? blah. Thankfully this one wont cost a fortune.
