thanks girls. They laid her to rest today, exactly 1 year after her Aunt died last year, and the day after her favorite Aunt's birthday.

I woke up to this status on facebook.

"Carried my baby for her last walk .uncle melmo love you xoxoox RIP averee"

This man was a Pallbearer last year at his sister in laws funeral (she died a year ago today).... I cannot fathom how hard this was for him today. I'm assuming that all of her great uncles and uncles carried her for her last walk... The ladies just would never have been able to do it... I know first hand how much that walk sucks... my brothers and I carried our father two years ago... I remember being afraid I'd collapse and drop him.

I agree hun, so very much. She was loved, spoiled, and left an impression on so many lives.

The town has raised over $100k in 5 years for the battens foundation, they plan on continuing, so she will live on, her name behind much needed research.
