Since we didn't do a chat thread this month, let's just do one that will last the rest of the year!


It's been so quiet on here. Despite what kind of board we are, that does make me sad!!



This is our first official cycle ttc. We did two ntnp (well, he wasn't trying, but I was!) before this. I'm 2dpo right now and I'm nervous as heck!

We're also less than 2 days from our Immigration interview. I've not done anything to have them deny me.. but my lawyer gave us some bad advice and we are short one possible critical piece of information. Canada issues two types of birth certificate. The lawyer insisted my "short form" was going to be fine... but now I find out via a web forum of thousands of people doing immigration, that I could get something called an RFE (request for evidence) because of it. I find this out just a few days before our interview!!!! I've ordered it, so once it comes I can submit it immediately, but I'm so ticked that the lawyer didn't tell us to get it!

Her services have been so bad that we're going to request most of our fees back. She did file everything, and fill it out, so I do think she should at least get that (it couldn't have taken more than 4 hours). If she doesn't, we'll be reporting her to the Bar for poor information (got it all in email) and for services not rendered since she didn't file for my travel document KNOWING I needed to go home to plan for our bigger wedding. So we had to call it off. Dh is so mad he'd sue her if he thought he could get anywhere (and he's not a lawsuit kind of person)

Interview is today, so nervous I could throw up.. and I might before the day is over.

How are you feeling with TTC?

This is a super busy week for me, we've got some big releases at work that we've been developing since early January and they are finally about done. Plus, it's ICLW and NIAW so I've been blogging like crazy for both of those.

It's not really any different than before really, it's just nice to know if it happens it happens and he wont be upset at all.

Sounds like you've got a busy week. The last 4 months have been leading up to this day for us.. just sucks that we're expecting an initial rejection notice thanks to the lawyer. She better be coughing up a refund since it's HER prep that will lead to it.

Good luck with the interview Ashley! I remember going in for DH's and honestly, it was easy peasy. Immigration sucks, but if you present yourself well, it isn't too bad. DH was expecting a lot worse.

As for me...Marsi is mobile and that is a good thing, but at the same time DH isn't quite as observant although he is an absolutely wonderful daddy. She pulled the PS3 onto her head yesterday before I got home from work. Today she has a black eye.

The rest of the month is pretty boring for me I lead an exciting life. Zoe and I are going Saturday to do a mommy & me photo shoot, I am pretty excited. I was trying to find matching outfits/tops, but couldn't get lucky. Either I was going to look like I belong in Amish country or like we should both be in a strip club, wasn't about to go for either!

Oh, I forgot to add that DH has a job interview on THURSDAY!!!! We are SO freaking excited about it. He has been unemployed for 6 months. Finished school right after Marsi was born and hasn't been able to get a job. It is even local and less than 10 minutes from the house. We wouldn't have to move. That is a good and bad thing honestly, but it is a job and I could finally be a SAHM like both of us want me to be!! Please send thoughts and prayers that he gets the job!

The job is local here in SLC. It is at a company is closer to our home than the school I teach at. We are SO hoping that he gets it.

oh thats awesome. I should be there this winter, my baby brother graduates from the U so I am coming home to see him walk, and depending on circumstances to possibly stay for a few weeks.

Oh poor Marsi! Hopefully it wont last long, and I bet DH will watch her more closely now!

Thanks for the well wishes girls. We have been recommended for approval, which means a supervisor needs to sign off on us. I should hopefully know soon if we will need to submit more evidence, if not... my green card should be here before vacation!

AND.. as soon as it arrives I will officially be able to use my Married name! I was worried they'd submit it in my maiden, but she requested it not.. which will be so nice! Which means my SSN when I remove the restrictions, and my drivers license will show it too!!! I've always wanted to take my husbands name... except when i dated someone with the last name Outhouse.. there was 0 possibility of me taking that!

LOL at the Outhouse last name. Ashley, glad you got approval. The two forms do not make sense to me either -- just the gov'ts way of getting more money.

We are getting alot of rain here and friends just called that another friend's house was flooding. DH is gone to help.

Ashley, I am glad you were recommended for approval. That is what happened with DH and I when we were going through the process. Are you planning on going for full citizenship or not. DH got citizenship because of more job opportunities when he was done with his degree. But his parents won't so I understand either of them. I too noticed the name change but it was because some "random" person posted on a vent I made in NFP/FAM.

I just bought my tickets to go to my parent's house in early June!! I am SO excited to go and visit. I will be there for a full week. My parents haven't seen Marsi since she was 10 days old.

I think I'm doing good, I've only checked my email once so far today. They'll send me emails regarding my GreenCard as soon as there is progress. lol. But again, I guess... I've been up for 15 minutes so I really haven't had a chance to check!

I d on't mind if they put a hold on us and ask for more info... but I'd like it to happen quickly so I can get in an application for travel permit so I can go home this summer. Though moving my gear home with out my green card might be impossible so they better approve me by then!

I hope you can get your greencard soon. I know nothing about the process, other than it can cost a fortune and takes forever(my BIL has been trying to get my SIL and her son their greencards and the rest for almost 3 years now).
