Every week I receive a weekly email pertaining to grief. It doesn't always pertain super well to this type of loss - but I thought some here might be able to gain something from it. If anyone is interested in signing up for their own to come to them - PM me...I will probably start posting it each week here though as well to share.

<span style="font-family:Georgia">Life doesn’t always go according to our plans. In fact, it
seldom does. Pain and loss can come into our lives with
the force of a raging storm and leave us feeling alone and
shipwrecked in a place that no longer looks or feels like
home. Grief is unfamiliar territory, and the path of grief
is often long and difficult with many obstacles along the way.

Among all of the extra burdens brought on by grief, we
don’t need to feel guilty or embarrassed when we cry. We
often feel that it is our duty to be strong for others. We
think we have to put on a happy face so that others will
feel more comfortable around us.

We don’t need to prove anything when our hearts have been
shattered by loss! This is our time to allow others to hold
us up and offer support. This is the time to be gentle to
ourselves and allow plenty of time for this roller coaster of
emotions to balance. We need to give ourselves permission
to work through our grief at our own pace and in our own way.

Little by little sunlight will begin to come back into our
hearts. Hope will ignite and help us to see the bright blue
sky behind the dark clouds. Our tears of sorrow will one
day turn to tears of joy as we anchor to the Lord, our Shepherd.

Take time to bandage your wounds and calm your fears of the
unknown. Remember often that this storm will not last forever.
Be filled with a peaceful assurance that every sunrise brings a
new day full of the miracles found in hope!

--Clara Hinton

“A small ray of hope brightens every corner of the heart.”
--C. Hinton

“When I said, ‘My foot is slipping,’ your love, O Lord,
supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your
consolation brought joy to my soul. The Lord has become
my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge.”
Psalm 94:18-19, 22

Thank you for posting this. I can certainly identify with this. Hope you don't mind me adding to your post, the lyrics for a song I've been listening to over and over for the past few weeks. I don't know if anyone else listens to or likes country music, even if you don't, the lyrics themselves have me hooked -especially verse two - which makes me think of my 2 angels:

Gary Allen

"Life Ain't Always Beautiful"

Verse One:
Life ain't always beautiful. Sometimes it's just plain hard.
Life can knock you down, it can break you're heart.
Life ain't always beautiful, you think you're on your way. It's just a dead
end road at the end of the day.
But the struggles make you stronger, and the changes make you wise.
And happiness has its own way of taking its sweet time.
No, life ain't always beautiful, tears will fall sometimes.
Life ain't always beautiful, but it's a beautiful ride

Verse two:
Life ain't always beautiful, some days I miss your smile.
I get tired of walking all these lonely miles.
And I wish for just one minute, I could see your pretty face.
I can dream, but life don't work that way.
But the struggles make me stronger, and the changes make me wise.
And happiness has its own way, of taking its sweet time.
No, life ain't always beautiful, but I know I'll be fine.
Hey, life ain't always beautiful, but it's a beautiful ride.
What a beautiful ride.
