Hi everyone. I have been on JM for a while and just had to bow out of my July DDC because I was diagnosed yesterday with a blighted ovum. This will be my second loss in 4 months. I had a miscarriage July 3rd at 6 weeks 5 days and this pregnancy already didn't look viable at 5 weeks and 3 days. Although my hcg levels went up there is no baby and I have been spotting brown for almost 2 weeks straight now. The ultrasound yesterday showed my cervix slightly open and the small flow of blood trailing out that is causing the spotting. My doc prescribed a medication to take and get the ball rolling but I am very skeptical of taking it and since I'm spotting I figured it may only be a matter of time before the process starts on its own. I'm very broken about this. I have give birth to 4 healthy children and can not understand why I would have two miscarriages back to back like this. I had a mild case of placenta previa with my last but it cleared up well before he was born. I had a placenta abruption with the pregnancy before that one and my son was 6 weeks early. No one knew why it happened but in either case I never had a real problem carrying my children and they were all healthy. I'm confused and scared to try again for fear of another loss. My doc had no explanation other then saying these things happen and it was just a bad egg. I'm not sure if I can do this again but I want another child so badly. Maybe third time is a charm for us. Anyway, thanks for reading my rant and I'm sure I'm not alone here with this.

It is impossible to say anything that will help you feel better now, and I am so sory that you are joining us here.

Well the nice thing about a blighted ovum is that they know exactly what went wrong and it is a nonreoccuring thing. My blighted ovum made it to nine weeks before I miscarried. After my bighted ovum, I had a fetal demise that made it 7 weeks and then a chemical pregnancy which was 4 weeks. After that I had my rainbow baby Beau and 13 months later his sister Tessa (so much for breastfeeding as birth control) I did lose my last pegnancy at 18 weeks.

It is so very hard

HUGS

Nicole has said everything I could possibly say, and (sadly) has more experience with your type of loss.

But you are right, you body is already trying to miscarry, it wouldn't hurt to wait a few more days. However, with next week being a holiday, I might suggest doing it how just to get things moving before then.

HUGS again. I'm sorry you're joining us here

Thanks so much for the support and sharing your experience. I am currently still having the off and on spotting but I can tell my symptoms are going away more and more. I'm at 7 weeks and 3 days now so I am very much hoping it will happen soon. I am just terrified of taking that pill. Everyone talks about how painful it is. I had little pain with my natural miscarriage so I want to avoid serious cramping if I can.
