I just had my 3rd miscarriage and I asked my doc for progesterone supplements. She said to wait ttc for a month and she'd test my levels on cd28. I told the nurse that I ovulate on CD 18-19. From what I read online progesterone is tested 7 days after ovulation. I questioned the date and no one has gotten back to me yet. Is there a reason for testing on cd28? My lp is 11-12 day

I had a test done, I can't remember the name of it. It wasn't a blood test though. My RE told me my progesterone levers we normal.

When I got pregnant, my progesterone was checked with blood tests and it was falling. I was then put on Prometrium(progesterone supplement.) Many people say falling progesterone numbers early in pregnancy is a sign of miscarriage.

Have you had any other blood work done? To test for clotting factors?

CD 28 is way too late and your doctor should be honestly be ashamed. At that point if there has been no implantation, your levels would be dropped anyway.

I'm doing a progesterone saliva test this cycle. It says cd's 19-21, but I do have to call and check on that since I tend to O slightly later in my cycle like you do and don't want to do it too early.

My test was done 5 to 7 days after AF. I believe that was the lining sample she took.

I'm not sure what tests are done when- but your doctors office should have a nurse (or resource person) who is able to sit down and explain what, how, and when they're testing. Also, someone should be available to answer your questions about test flexibility (late & early O-ing).

Good luck.

I mean CD 28 draws give insight, especially if you get pregnant. But they don't pin point when the issue occurs (which is usually 7dpo). If you're taking a cycle off... a 7dpo test would tell them more than a cd 28
