Thanks for all your welcomes to my first post. I just wanted to update with the latest. I ended up having a really bad reaction to my HSG and had to go see the doctor yesterday to make sure nothing was seriously wrong. He couldn't find any signs of infection or bleeding so it looks like all the pain I was having was just my body's reaction to the procedure. He said he's never seen anyone react like that and that it means we'll have to go very cautiously. He canceled my endometrial biopsy (which could cause a similar reaction) and says we'll wait until we get all the lab results back to decide what to do next. That means no fertility drugs unless they're clearly indicated (which they shouldn't be because I get pregnant at the drop of a hat.) And he said we'll have to weigh the risks and side effects before deciding what to do, since I tend to have strong reactions to medications (and apparently to procedures as well.) I was SO relieved that he was willing to take an individualized approach. From the way he was talking before I thought he just had everyone follow the same protocol and I was not comfortable with that. It certainly wasn't pleasant being in pain for 3 days but it was worth it if it helped him to see me as an individual.

Now I just wait for a month or so until all the bloodwork is done and see what shows up. I think the suspense is going to really get to me, especially when it's ovulation time. I really want to start trying again!

Wow, how scary! I'm glad doc is going to proceed cautiously and adjust your treatment to best suit you and your body. Praying for good results from all the bloodwork.

Sounds like your reaction to the test was scary. Sorry for that but it sounds like your dr is really taking his time with you and I will pray that all of your bloodwork comes back good!

I am sorry you went through so much discomfort over the test. That is really a bummer as it's no fun when it goes well - let alone if there are complications. Hopefully you will get through the month quickly & get results that give you some peace & hope. hang in there - as long a month as it seems - it seems like ages ago to me now & some day it will to you too!
