Hey ladies!

I have recently started being nervous about posting pictures of my daughter on the internet for just anyone to see, I have heard stories before of ladies stealing pics and passing them off as their own kids, and weirdos collecting images of children etc, but didn't give it much thought before. A lady in my playroom found some pictures of her son on some girls myspace account, passing him off as her own son. And it was this girl's FRIEND, someone she knew. So I stopped posting pics of DD in my playroom, we now have a PW protected picture place for this very thing. I am thinking we should have that here as well.

what do you all think? We do have the pw protected NCB photos, but this would be different. Let me know what you think.

Cheryl

I am also freaked out about this since the incident in our playroom so I would be all for it.

I also PW protected my smugmug account so random people can't get there by searches and that sort of thing. At least with facebook only my friends can see my pics.

You can also watermark your pics with any basic photo editing program prior to uploading, it will make it a LOT harder to steal. I'm not fussed about my own pictures (if someone really wants to pretend they look like me they need some serious help!) but will be marking all of my LO for their safety.

Cheryl I think that's a wonderful idea!

I have a friend on Myspace that has all her pictures open to be viewed by anyone... Including ones of her little girl in the bathtub playing with her friend and you can see EVERYTHING. Yes it's a little child but you never know who's looking at these pictures, maybe some pervert.

I would feel better about posting pictures in that forum.

I agree that it's a good idea. Maybe we could combine the two picture forums. I think it's cool to go on and ask for it Cheryl.

I don't get bothered by putting my children's pictures on the net... but for those that are, it's a good idea.

I personally feel sorry for people that use pictures of other people's kids and pretend they're theirs. Who are they hurting, really (other than themselves)? The children aren't hurt by it... those people must be aching to have children as cute as mine if they're using our pictures. LOL *shrug*

As I said, it doesn't bother me to have it either way.
