Just wondering what your experience was w/ your 2nd NCB if you who had a NCB w/ your 1st? Was it easier or harder? How was it different? Did anything unexpected happen?

I had SUCH a wonderful NCB experience w/ my 1st that sometimes I'm nervous that no other birth will be able to compare

easier and harder... lol

Easier because I was at a birth center and I knew I didn't have the option of having meds unless I transferred.
Easier because I got a full water birth, not just water labor
Easier because it was faster
Easier because I was more confident that i could do it.

harder because it was faster.. lol therefore MUCH more painful
harder because I had to keep telling myself that I was doing the right thing. My brain kept trying to tell me "why are you doing this again?!"
harder because I had back labor

It was definitely worth it and overall I think it was easier the second time around. It was just different... lol

Yep I say it was easier and harder.

It was easier cause it was shorter labor, but harder cause that made it more intence and painfull.

easier cause I knew what to expect but Harder cause I kept thinking "why am I doing this to myself again?"

Most of all it was easier cause I knew I had done it before so I could do it again.

Oh man, I'm in for it if I go faster but more painful... I had the worst back labor last time and definitely would like to skip that this time if I could... as if I have a choice, LOL!

I would't say easier or harder, it was different.

I progressed more steadily with my first and truly had a painfree labor (until the end and they wouldn't let me push because the doctor wasn't there yet )
With my second I progressed slower until my water broke at 5 1/2 cm. Once that happened everything went super fast and he was in my arms 50 minutes later, so that last 50 minutes was very intense. However, both labors were around 6 1/2 hours total--first was 6 hours 49 minutes; second was 6 hours 20 minutes.

What made my second better was that I was in a birth center with a midwife instead of a hospital with an ob.

They were both such amazing experiences though and something I can't wait to do again.

No way. It was much harder and much more painful .. and 7 & a half hours longer.

I didn't expect her to turn face up.. that's why it was so excruciating. I went from 2 - 9 in 2 hours though which is why my doctor wants me to get to the hospital as soon as I think Im in labor.. I hope this lil guy comes out FAST and the right way
