Oh girl, I feel your pain! The first 4 months of this pregnancy were just the pits for me! I could NOT fall asleep no matter how dang tired I was! Frustrating!!!! (to say the least)
I started drinking Chamomile tea and it helped a lot but then I had to wake up and pee at least 2 times from drinking tea right before bed. Mine has gone away in the last month, so I really hope you get some relief too!
I remember some ladies in my last DDC saying they had this problem but I never did. I just lay there not even thinking but not able to fall asleep quickly either. Oh well, I'm sure it will pass. At least the complete exhaustion stage is over for now.
I wouldn't say I have insomnia, but it definitely takes me longer to fall asleep these days. I only sleep through the night maybe once a week. I used to be a champion sleeper and napper before this pregnancy! It's a cruel twist of fate that it changes when you need the sleep most.
It is cruel!! I'm so tired by the time I get in bed and then it's like my body just won't cooperate. Hypnobirthing exercises have been helping a bit though so that's good. Last night I fell asleep very fast but unfortunately for DH it was a very deep sleep, lol.
I think it's nature's way of preparing you to a new eradic sleep schedule for the baby. I already sleep like $&%&#. It takes me a good hour to fall asleep and then between my cats, Dh snoring, and usually having to pee once in the night, I feel like I'm already waking up 4-5 times at least a night. I like to think I'm just going to be nicely prepared for a baby's schedule.
