What is your favorite holiday memory from childhood?

I used to love how my brother would come running into my room telling me it was time to get up and go wake our parents up so we could have our presents. His excitement was always so contagious. Being a kid was so much fun when you were that young. *Sigh*

My mom always left a "note from Santa" and I was so excited every Christmas morning to wake up and go read the note Santa had left for me and see if he ate my cookies.

I love thanksgiving. Every year when I was a kid we'ld go to my grannies house- my great grandmother. She was a world traveler and a adventurer- and she kept everything. She would always share the coolest things, shoes from the 30's, dresses from the fiftys, etc. It was so amazing.

I miss her dearly, especially around the holidays.

My grandfather, loudly stirring his black coffee to wake us kids up. Drove my mother crazy.

Because of the religion I was raised in we did not celebrate any holidays, including birthdays, growing up. My first Xmas, first everything, was when I was 25. So I really look forward to creating those memories for the first time with our children.

The time we spent together as a family. I especially loved going to my grandma's house every Christmas Eve.
