Last night my BA came to the house and met with DH and I. She is awesome. I'm actually getting excited about labor! Her philosophy about child birth and the miracle that it is, is right in line with how we feel. She talked about the moment when there are 4 people in the room and then suddenly, there is a 5th person. That is one of those moments that totally blows my mind. Babies are such a miracle! She also talked about how she view the mother and the baby as "mother-baby". As one unit not to be disturbed. I'm so excited. My whole motivation for delivering at the BC is that I hate the way most hospitals treat babies. Her approach is to just let us bond. As long as we are both doing well, I don't have to hand over my baby for weighing, testing or anything for the first hour!

She also is a Bradley instructor so I know she'll be a great coach. My DH, bless him for trying, just isn't. It's hard to expect men to take on that role. He's an awesome husband but guiding me through labor isn't his strength. I'm looking forward to the whole experience now. I've been so nervous knowing what's coming. Meeting her and going over all my concerns with her, totally put my mind at ease. I'm so glad I found her!!

sounds great!! I agree, DH's shouldn't be counted on as the only means of support. I think they should be supported as well at that time- it's their birth too. And I feel strongly that having a woman there is really important. As I've said a thousand times on here, our doula was worth every penny and such a source of strength for me. Congrats!!
