Hello I'm Elizabeth(21) DH is James(37) And we are expecting our first baby April 19th ish. I want to try to have a natural child birth. No pain meds no forceps or vacuums none of that stuff unless it is absolutely needed(ie em. C-section, baby won't cooperate things like that) And I would like some advice on what to expect (I know every woman is different) and things that you used to try to keep your mind off the pain some.
I'd appreciate any advice I can get THANKS!!

Hi! Welcome to the board. The first thing you should do is purchase and read Ina May's Guide To Childbirth. It is an incredible book that discusses the body, labor, delivery and how natural and incredible the process can be. I read that book and felt very empowered. The first half is birth stories, after about 30 of them, i skipped right to the rest of the book for the meat and potatoes
Hi Im Sarah! I would just suggest researching each one of the things you were just talking about and see how you feel about them. After I read about how pain meds can affect you and the baby and what can happen with any other interventions I knew I wanted to avoid them at all costs. Thats really how I got here. Welcome!!
