Did you make any New Year's Resolutions this year? If so, what are they and how do you plan to achieve them?
I never really make any resolutions because I never really think about it but I did manage to get my whole house clean over the holidays so I am striving to keep it that way. When it gets messy I feel overwhelmed and don't want to do anything at all to it. It's so much easier when you just have to straighten up everyday.
I made my first resolution in 2008, which was to try or come up with cooking a new recipe at least once a week. And all year long I honestly kept to it. And not even while thinking about it, just because it became to much fun.
This year, although not really resolutions, I REALLY want to get back to my French and piano since I've left them for so long. But it's already the 9th and I still haven't touched either.
This may sound silly, but my resolution is to help Jeff (DH) overcome his need to keep everything! All of our storage space is full of empty boxed from things he has bought. He also keeps computer parts (he's an IT guy), so we have old monitors and printers from at least 10 years ago. We will never use any of this stuff, and it is taking up so much room in our house...room we need for when the baby comes!
That and I would like to spend more time on me...relaxing and meditating.
1. be active in some way every day
2. work with DH on our relationship a bit more...we've been a bit stressed since Lily was born. i think we need to make spending time together a priority again
3. put full amount into my roth IRA this year
4. put at least $2000 into my special rainy day fund that is just for stuff i might want, or sometimes i roll it into CDs
5. donate/give more (either money or time)
Well every year my resolution is to lose weight and every year I fail - or lose 20lbs and then fail lol. This year I'm pregnant so I just skipped the whole resolution thing! I'll go back to my "lose weight" thing next year and fail some more LOL!

Oh, honey, I hear ya! My DH is an AWFUL packrat! We have several computers, only one of which we use, and then *%$# literally from his childhood! The man is 42! I understand keeping a couple of special mementos, but it's things like nasty dirty old carnival toys, a torn-up windsock, etc. I am a bit of a packrat myself, but I also go through and clean out my stuff occasionally.
Anyway, rant over. My goals are lose weight, get organized, get on top of my budget so we can get out of debt, and get pg (and stay that way this time!) Very classic, except the pg one.
