What would your dream birth look like? Not what you are having, not even what you could have. Just your ultimate dream birth.

Mine would be having Ina May Gaskin be my midwife in my own home that I own in the tropics somewhere. And I would be surrounded by all of my dearest NCB women friends, all acting as doulas, like Cindy and Cheryl from this Board, Kathy, Maili & Valmarie in real life. All there, all showing me so much love, support and encouragement as I have a peaceful birth in water.

A girl can dream right?!

A home water birth. On the deck surrounded by the sound of crashing waves.

A water birth on Christmas day at home with just me Dave and a midwife. I would want him to catch the baby. I would have candles, soft music and NO lights. I have always wanted it just to be the two of us for the birth, but I can't deny my kids and mom the joy of seeing him born

At home, okay....not my home. A home on the beach overlooking the gulf in the water on the patio. Soft music, candles, DF, my mom and closest friends.

I'll never have a home on the beach and DF will never agree to a homebirth. But like you said, a girl can dream.

Ok Im probably a weirdo but I read this NCB story of a momma who went to a lake house and wandered around outside by the lake and gave birth to twins (outside with no one around but her DH)....

That would be my ideal labor... including the twins.

A home water birth in a cabin in the middle of a secluded forest with DH and Tiffany surrounded with no light but what is coming in from outside and lots of candles lit about the room.

outside, in a tub (or jacuzzi) in the yard of my beautiful new home. I would want Rob to catch with the guidence and support of my midwife, and I want it to be really nice and quiet. I want to have a doula and possibly some friends for support people.

I'm fortunate that my ideal birth is a definate possiblitiy!

hhm...in the hottub at the house John and I stayed at on our honeymoon in Maui. The house was at the top of a big hill overlooking Haleakala, Linai and the ocean. There was a hot tub at the edge of the yard, an outdoor shower and totally private yard. The tradewinds would blow through and sometimes lightly rain. We saw tons of rainbows and even a moonbow! It was so lush and well kept and there were tons of trees and potted plants and even potted trees! And lots of flowers and geckos. It was perfection.

Here are the pics of the view
