I'm sure this has been asked but because I'm new I'm going to ask again...

Did you have a home or hospital birth?

I had a hospital (VBAC) birth.

I had a hospital birth but my next will be at home!

I did have a totally spontaneous and intervention free birth though, so I was very "lucky"

It's a bummer... in RI it is illegal to have a home birth, or anything except for in a hospital birth (crazy in my opinion). This state is actually really far behind with the birthing world I feel like. There is a 90% epidural rate as well. That seemed super high. But people around here just think that's the way you naturally go about having a baby (with drugs haha).

Ooo I didn't realize this question was in the past tense. Haha. I answered before I saw that.

My first was at a hospital, my second at a birth center. I'd like a homebirth if we have another. Considering my first labor was 8 hours, my second 6...I might as well stay home next time!

Wow! That is good. Mine was 6 & 1/2 hours and that was my first vaginal and a VBAC.

It is a center run by midwives that stands by itself but still provides labor and delivery services. Usually it is very home-like and provides waterbirth or land birth options. They also do all the prenatal exams there as well. Our only local one closed, so I will be having my next at home when I finally get pg again.
