Hi ladies!

So, I want to do a belly cast, but had a few questions for those who have done it:

1. when in your pregnancy did you do it?
2. what kit did you use and would you recommend it?
3. What did you do with it after you made the cast?

thanks for your

I offer belly casting to my clients and at the birthing center. I try to do them at 37 weeks, but sometimes if baby is high then it could be more like 38-39 weeks. I don't use a kit- I'mm use olive oil (to lube) and medical grade paster casting material. You can get it at a medical supply store, and cut it into strips yourself. As for displaying- they make lovely nursery decor! You can do so many cool things- google belly casts and see some ideas.

I keep meaning to and never doing it. I really should this time around.

I saw the CUTEST pic online a few months ago. The mom did a belly cast and then after the baby was born flipped it over and put the baby in the belly part and took a pic... soooooo awesome

meredith- I definatly second getting the baby in the cast for a photo op- those are super cute.

I recently saw a photo of a cast that was covered in flowers- the silk kind. They were all hot glued on. there are some really pretty ones- and that is super cute for a girl.

I also love mosaic tiles- but that is expensive and super time consuming....

oh- and doing a family tree decoupaged on is a really sweet idea.

I'd love to do one, but since we didn't do one for DS, I don't know if it'd bother him later that we did one for the new baby, but not for him.

I thought about doing one and then painting little angels on it for our 4 miscarriages, and then something to symbolize our two little boys....
