I went to a wedding last night. The wife of one of my running group buds came up to me and asked me when I was due and then told me she was a L&D nurse. She asked, where are you delivering and I said "the birth center and I have a doula as well" and she said "you are the kind of person we are always making fun of at work" I just smiled and got my drink (juice) and walked away. DH and I were just in shock. How sad.

wow- she sounds like a crap nurse. I'd write a letter of complaint to her boss if you know her name! bite her back, right in the butt!

She was hammered, so I did not want to bother getting into it with her. Still in shock over it! ***?

Hm. Well, considering I've already done it once, I'd tell her she's the people we all warn other moms about because they have such a toxic attitude.

Wow, sounds like her and the other nurses need to find something else to do. That's just tacky to make fun of patients or I guess not patients if they aren't delivering there haha. I give you a lot of credit for letting that one slide.

Yeah, if she was hammered it probably was best to bite your tongue. You know you are doing what is best for you and baby and that is all that matters. I would never want her as my nurse if I were to give birth in that hospital.

Rude!!!
Not to mention a loser!
What kind of NURSE makes fun of a pregnant woman...wait, what kind of person PERIOD???
I understand we all make different decisions, but I would never make fun of someone for their choices in life. Like I said, la-hoooooo-zer!

Oooh I wouldn't have been able to hold back. In my case I would have said, "and you're the reason I don't want to use a hospital"!

I would've been speechless, too...but would have thought later that I should've said something like, "And you're the kind of nurse we dread having when we're in labor."

*** was she thinking???

Wow! It's easy to think of stuff later but I am sure I would have been so shocked I was speechless too. I say all kinds of stupid stuff when I'm drunk too. And when I'm sober too!

Anyway she sucks.
