I feel so on top of the world since little Emory has arrived. I could not have imagined a smoother, less painful birth experience and I honestly have little to no discomfort at all now. I remember with Bryson I was already crying at the slightest thing at this point and now I'm still feeling wonderful. I'm sleeping well as Emory sleeps in 3-4 hour stretches each night and isn't crying at all yet. I'm sure any day now my hormones are going to go nuts and I'll be a little off the wall but wow, I just can't believe how great I feel!

Has anyone else felt like this in the days after the birth? How long did it last for you?

I had a wonderful birth with DD and very easy recovery. I was soooo excited to have her here finally. We did have terrible trouble getting her to eat, she didn't latch for six weeks, so those early days were a mix of the high and the terrible lows of being worried. Enjoy!

that's great Cindy, congrats!!

I don't know if I experienced that or not. I got a cold from the hospital so that messed things up for me. I really got the hormone crash hard too. I really hope to avoid that next time. What's your secret?

I didn't feel it, but thats because I had postpartum depression. Hopefully next time around.

I felt so amazing for awhile, but don't remember exactly how long it lasted. No one could believe how "normal" I seemed.

That's great! I felt the same way after both boys--not even a hint of the baby blues! I will say though after Loch I had my emotional times but that was because Liam had a hard time adjusting to the new baby. I felt bad for him and it upset me, especially when he would try and pull Lochy off my lap while he was nursing and say, "No, my Mommy." He was only 19 months old when Lochy was born though and he did get over it fairly quickly and after a couple weeks I don't think he even remembered a time before his brother was there! Now they're such great friends!

I was and still am on a high from Evan's birth. There have been some rough moments but I think the after birth high has made them a lot easier for me to get through, kwim? I never expected to feel this great... a lot of people couldn't and still can't believe how easy my recovery (didn't have anything to recover from, LOL) and adjusting to having 2 kids has been.

I'm glad you feel so great and hope the feeling continues for a long time!

I am so glad to hear you feel that way. I had postpartum depression so bad when I had my son I never got to enjoy the firs 6 weeks that much.
