After a depressing day of insurance poo and looking into hospitals and what not yesterday (no midwifes in plan) I found out today that as of June 1st the birth center I want is now in plan!!! I will have my regular OB appointment this week and then will be touring (and most likely switching to) the birth center next week!
Yeah the funny thing is I still have sticker shock as am from Canada where you pay for NOTHING no matter what happens. But after hearing how muh my coworkers paid for hospital births I think this is reasonable.
That's awesome! I'm glad you're going to be able to go to the birthing center.
I payed about $2000 out of pocket for Eva's hospital birth with my insurance.
This time around we're doing a home birth and it's not covered by insurance but it's only going to cost us $1700.
