First off I want to thank all of you for being so supportive after my c-section. It really meant a lot to me.
We just had Zoe's 1 month check up ( a little late since doc was on vacation and i only want to see her) and she rocked it! when we went in a little over a month ago, she weighed 5lbs9oz, today she weighed 7lbs 10oz!!!!! she feeds 24/7 so not a huge shocker.
I am overall doing well. My incision is mostly healed and pain is mostly gone. About 10 days after the c section i had severe pain while urinating and went to see the OB (i saw a different one than who did my surgery luckily). first, the nurse takes me back and says "don't you love having had a section? i had two and thought it was so easy and great" i think my jaw hit the ground, um no, it SUCKED X 1 MILLION TRILLION. turns out the pain was bladder spasms triggering uterine contractions. fun stuff. it resolved luckily a few days later.
overall i had been ok with having the c section, knowing it was the only option in my situation (26 hours of labor, 26 hours after my water broke, baby turned butt first). however, a friend just had her baby at my birth center 2 days ago and it made me sad that i missed that experience. just weird that after 5 weeks i start to get upset.
otherwise things have been good. the midwives rock and the one who was with me during most my labor and then in the OR called tp chat and we talked for 20+ mins. she just wanted to follow up and check in. i love them there! i have my 6 week PP visit monday.
I can sympathize. After 17 hours of labor we had to move from the birth center to the hospital. I didn't have a c-sec but I had to get the epidural so they could use the forceps. It was a very rough experience. I was so upset afterward and jealous of anyone who got to have a NCB. You did a great job and your baby girl is beautiful and healthy. It gets easier.
