Ugh, just sort of venting, sort of asking for advice here...

Basically I've spotted off and on since the beginning with this pregnancy. It's never much, and usually just a couple times and then nothing for a couple weeks. But the overall number of episodes worries me. This week I had bright red spotting on Thursday which quickly went to brown and then virtually nothing yesterday. Now there's more bright pink - almost red spotting this morning. sigh...

I just hear too many stories I think of women who have spotting during pregnancy and end up having complications or excessive bleeding during labor.

I don't know... I hate to call on the 4th of July. But I'm kinda worried... I'm having slight cramps, but nothing that couldn't just be normal pregnancy stuff. Hard to tell if the baby is moving more or less than normal, he/she pretty much only moves at night. The last few times I've tried the doppler I could only pick up the HB through the placenta, not a real clear one and in the lower range instead of the normal 140/150s.

sigh... I have to work today and then of course all the plans for the 4th... I just don't know what to do (or not do...)

well I tried the doppler again and picked up a good strong 145 but it wasn't very "steady" which could just be the baby moving away from the probe. But other than doing that, I dont' think the midwife will do anything else, so I guess I don't see the point in calling? sigh, I don't know... Never had this with the other pregnancies.

Halfway tempted to go down to the hospital, but I don't want to have to sit in the stupid waiting room for hours...

spotting is brown now. I did a quick cervical check during my shower just cause I was curious.... I don't know what's "normal" for this stage of pregnancy but it definitely feels extremely soft and slightly dilated, but I've heard that it's normal to be a little dilated with sucessive pregnancies.

I'm totally over analyzing here... I just need to stop I think! lol

Where was your placenta placed when you got your U/S? Did you have any extra lobe growth? Any possibility of scar tissue in your uterus from a D&C?

I would go in to the hospital, b/c spotting at this time in your pregnancy usually is somthing that needs to be monitored pretty well. They will do a scan, and maybe even a a level II.

(((hugs)))) I have no real advice. I do know that a handful of my patients spotted on and off through their whole pregnancies. If you are truly worried, I would not hesitate to go to the ER.

I hope it is all ok, but I would play it safe and call the MW or go get checked out.

Just echoing the other ladies here. I would at least call the MW, if not make a trip to the ER.

Placenta is in the upper left, slightly in front, so no where near my cervix. They didn't mention any lobe issues. no D&C or other procedures that could cause scar tissue.

I called the midwife and she's concerned, but not quite to the point of having me go to the hospital. She said if it gets worse (right now there's nothing) or starts up again to go ahead and go in and put myself on pelvic rest. I'm to call her Monday if I have more spotting and she'll order an ultrasound.

So I'm just kinda playing a waiting game. I'm feeling baby move and the HB is good. I've had a bad backache all day, but no real cramping, so we're just kinda keeping an eye on things...

Glad you went ahead and called the midwife. I hope everything stays calm...I am sure that is super stressful.

Sorry you're having to deal with this! I'm a "bleeder", I always have spotting with my pregnancies. With my first I had downright bleeding. Had it at 17 weeks with Jayden too. Very scary but always turned out to be nothing, I hope the same goes for you!

Glad to see the spotting has stopped!!

I had full periods with the twins for months, had spotting off and on similar to yours with Reicher into 20 weeks. can't tell you why and nothing was ever wrong. Hope the spotting is done for you for good now!

Seems to have gone away. But it's been doing this the whole pregnancy. I'll have spotting for a couple days and then nothing for a few weeks, then it'll start again. It just worries me that maybe there's something going on that I don't know about...

I expect if I have any other episodes my midwife will send me in for another ultrasound to check and see if there's anything.

Mostly just trying to take it easy and not spend too much time on my feet or anything.
