Hey all....
I'm pregnant with #2 and due in January. I've been on JM for awhile (shortly after the birth of my first child) and lurked in here a lot. Y'all have already helped me so much...so I thought I woulld just jump right in, say hello and get to know everyone. I am planning an all natural, hospital birth (dh is insisting on the hospital part) I don't have much support as far as family goes with the natural aspect but thats ok..I thought I might be able to make up with it by meeting some "online" women. I am currently meeting with Doulas and looking into hiring one..I didn't have one for my son's birth and really wish I would have. I have ordered Hypnobabies and can't wait to get it and get started. I think it will really help me to not stress and get over a lot of the "bad" things that happened with my first delievery. Anyways, just wanted to say hello. Off to start working on a birth plan...

Welcome! Glad you finally came out into the open. And happy to hear this Board has helped you. As you already know, this is such a great place for info and support, especially if you don't have much support IRL. It sounds like you are setting yourself up great for this upcoming birth with the doula and Hypnobbies. Is you OB supportive?

Congrats and welcome. I think I recognize you from the AP board. I mostly lurk there. Sounds like you're on your way to a wonderful birth.

Thanks Ladies!

Yep the BF board and the AP board have been favs of mine : )

ShaunaB- I deal with a CNM out of my OB practice, as of right now..but the more I am thinking about it...I am switching....If I go with a hospital, I don't want to deliever at the same one I had my son. I had to fight them tooth and nail to keep the baby in my room, they had these absurd "mandatroy" three hour nursery stays for the babies everyday and after the birth - they did not pay any attention to my birth plan..yada yada. So yeah...and thats if I can't talk my husband into the local birthcenter....we are going to a "meet the midwives" next month.and I'm very excited.

Have your husband go with you for a tour of a birthing center, that can really ease the mind of someone who is unsure. Also, check out this thread, there may be some info you can share with him- http://www.justmommies.com/forums/f3...h-centers.html (Birth Centers)

Thank you!! I'll check that out.... I'll use a different hopital (the one that our only birthcenter transfers to) and I have a meeting set up with their OB - the one that handles all the emergencies for the local birthcentr...but I would much rather just go with the birthcenter. It's a great group of local women.
