Did you use one during labor? Did you find that it helped?

yes! I think I sat on that ball for 24 hours straight! at least it felt that way! Once active labor kicked in I spent the first 2 hours on it. It helped soooo much to rock/sway on the ball during contractions!!

I tried but I think I was in the very beginning of transition when I finally wanted to try it...I sat down and thought I was going to die. It put so much pressure on my uterus that I honestly wanted the epidural for about 30 seconds...until I walked myself back to the toilet...sitting on the toilet was like a breath of fresh air after the ball

I used one during labor and I usually have one around the house to sit on starting at about 20 weeks - very comfortable!

During my pregnancy I had all these plans on how my labor was going to happen and one of those plans was that I was going to use the heck out of a birthing ball. Then, when I was actually in labor, I hated that stupid birthing ball. Oh well.

Yes!! I used it for two whole days while I labored at home. I used it to bend over, not for sitting.

I used the birthing ball during Julia's labor. I sat on it for hours in early labor. Pretty soon after, I was in transition.

I want to use a birthing ball. I've had a friend that used one and she said it did wonders to help with the contractions. I hope I can be so lucky!

I used the birthing ball for about 10 minutes and it made my contractions worse...

Like Chels... I went back to walking or sitting on the toliet...

I don't know if the ball was too soft but to sit on it was just toture... it was bad enough I was having Pit contractions with no pain meds, the ball made them worse!

I too, waited too long to try it, and was in so much pain!!

I had thought that I would use it a lot, but we never did get it blown up at home, and by the time we got to the hospital, I was 9cm coming out of transition! I prefered the toilet by that point!

I think it just depends on your labor...like for my sister, who was having back labor, it was great! For me, it was totally different! everyone is different!

I used it for about 2 hrs while in labor with Dean. I loved it. I sat on it while leaning on the end of the bed.

I used mine with my first until my husband drug me off it and said it was time to go to the hospital. I was about 7cm's when we got there, so I think it was working pretty well! I planned on using it the second time too- we had planned to have the baby at my folk's place, so all the supplies were there, but the birth went too fast and we didn't make it there in time. I'll give it a try this time though, because it did feel really good...

I hope to use it as well, but if not, it's still a great thing to have at home for the months/weeks before labor! Sitting on it helps to get the baby in optimal fetal position! (Prenatal yoga teacher here!). So definitely worth having either way!
