Hi ladies! I'm wondering if you have room for another new member. I suppose you all want to know a little bit about me?
My name is Mari, and we have 7 wonderful kiddos ranging in age from 9 years to 9 months old. We are expecting number 8 in May of 2010. We have 3 girls and 4 boys. The last three have been boys, so we seem to be on a role. We live on a farm and have our own chickens and beef and garden like crazy people in the summer. We raise/ grow over 50 % of our food. I am a SAHM and we homeschool the kiddos. I have had 7 vaginal births, none with pain meds, the last two were waterbirths, and I'm hoping for that again. I have had the dreaded pitocin (hehe) with number 4, but no others. I have given birth in the hospital for all of the births, including one that we just made it in the door for. I'm hoping to meet some likeminded ladies who don't think I'm crazy for wanting another natural birth.
If you have a minute, tell me a little bit about yourself.
In case you are wondering, in my siggy, that is DD who is baby number 2, and DS who is baby number 6.
Jesus loving, homeschooling, gardening lover, devoted wife to a wonderful hubby and 10 kids, ages 13 down to 12.5 months . We are expecting number 11 due January 1st, 2015.
Welcome! My name is Stephanie we have 3 beautiful babies Nicky 6, Natalie 4, and Autumn 2. We are excepting #4 June 1. I have C/S with the all of my babies. So this time I am staying home and not letting them cut me open willy nilly because they can.
I wish we had enough space to do what you are doing! So for right now I grow as much as my garden can produce, we do buy a cow and a hog every year. We also have a friend that sends us tuns of eggs! I do most of my own canning and freezing. Although this year with my M/S being bad most of my stuff went bad still on the plants. Oh well we have next year!
I'm Chelsea <22> married to Sam <will be 25 in a couple days!> and Mommy to Brylie <08.08.09>...Brylie was an induction due to HELLP but otherwise born naturally...hopefully #2 will be 100% natural at the same hospital with the same midwife .... I love that you have such a wonderfully large family! That's what DH and I are shooting for 8-10 kiddies! We also live on a farm and grow a lot of our own goods in the summer (I don't can or anything like that)...and we raise our own beef and chickens (I dont eat pork, but DH gets pork from his parents farm)...I cant wait to follow your pregnancy! congrats!!

Hospital water birth
Hi, welcome and thanks for joining us!! I'm Cheryl, host here and mommy to Acadia, 2 next month, and about 10 weeks along with our second. I would love to have a farm and be so self sufficient! We did have a big garden this year, it was awesome.
We have a sticky roll call thread that can tell you more about some of our members. Unfortunately this board has a lot of coming and going, but we do have a solid group that is here all the time too.
Hello and welcome! I'm Veann, wife to Matthew and Mommy to Lucius (2-13-09). I had an all-natural drug and intervention free labor and birth with Lucius in a freestanding birth center attended by a midwife. Our story is up in the birth stories subforum.
Welcome! It sounds like you will fit right in here
I'm Andrea, mom to 2 little girls, Abby (3) and Anna (12 months). Anna was my natural birth, I had a water birth in a freestanding birth center. I could never have another hospital birth, I loved the birth center and having midwives was so much different and I liked it a lot better than seeing an OB. If we have another, I plan on having another waterbirth in either the same birth center or at home.

Hi Mari!!!! You know me already...lol so I won't get into all the boring details.
My next brith if we decide to have another after our loss in May will most likely be a homebirth with a traveling midwife. If we were staying in NJ it would be a hopital birth with the midwives Ihad for Colm because they were so wonderful, but in Alaska I will probably go for the homebirth.
When they persisted in questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "Let the person among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." John 8:7 Sail Back to Me
Congrats on #8. I come from a family of 10 kids and I am the second. None of them were natural births. I am pregnant with #3, the first I had with an epidural, the second I chose to go natural and had her in 2 hours. Hopefully I will have a little more time with this one.
