I know that first timers are often late, but since I had myself convinced he would have been early I feel even more late!

But I am getting nervous that I am growing this giant baby that I still to need get out of me. I REALLY REALLY don't want meds so I hope I can still do this.

My OB was pretty funny, he was like don't worry, we won't go further than 42... I was like oh super!

I guess I am just getting nervous... that's normal right?

It is normal to be anxious! The average gestation of a first baby is 41 weeks 1 day.

There is no question the end is tough!!! I felt like a beached whale.

I agree, the end is really tough and it is normal to be nervous. I'm sure everything will go perfectly, just remember:

"I am not afraid, I was born to do this"

Beached whale is exactly what I feel like! lol

And yes, I know I am made to do this. My DH was so funny, he was asked, "what do I do if you are begging for meds", and I said to just remind me I can do anything for THAT 90 seconds. I don't need to think beyond that 90 seconds, even if contractions are one on top of another, I can do ANYTHING for that time!

So, here's to walking the walk!

And I have been so MIA on here lately, I hope everyone is having a nice Holiday season!

I'm only at a hair over 38 weeks and I'm already beginning to be impatient to have this baby! Hope labor starts soon, and just try to trust in yourself and your DH - you CAN do it the way you want!

It's totally normal to feel impatient but it sounds like you are doing everything you can to stay positive. Don't worry, you won't be pregnant forever.

Definitely normal feeling!! I remember thinking I was going to be the first woman pregnant forever when my youngest was born at 41 weeks.

Good luck! I can't wait to hear how your experience at the hospital is. I'm still undecided about whether to deliver at the birth center or BH.

I'm still here... 41 weeks today!

My appt on Thursday I was 2 cm... and just waiting and waiting and wating! Even though my OB thought I would go into labor this week I still have my u/s set for Mon, NST for Tuesday and regular OB appt on Thursday. If I am there on Thursday we will then plan the induction since I will be 42 weeks on Friday.
My OB is very anti induction unless medically needed and I agree with him. He is really hoping I go on my own. He just keeps re-affirming me it is much better for me and the LO... I have never asked about being induced but I'm sure he is used to being asked often! But that's why I love him, he's a midwife-ish doc. He actually is the over-seeing OB to the midwives. Anyway, going O/T! lol

Baby's growth slows down dramatically in the last 2-3 weeks. My baby was 42 weeks (sure of dates) and 7 lbs, 11 oz. You can do it!

Sounds like even though you're getting anxious you totally have the right mindset! You're right... you can do just about anything for 90 seconds... you've got this!

Just think, at this time next week you will be holding your baby! Sending lots of labor dust your way!

I had actually planned for accupuncture this morning but with the weather I pushed it off some. I decided I didn't want to try and convince him to come in this weather. I'm ok, just done being giant! But its nothing I couldn't do for another week if I needed to.

But, I will take all the labor dust I can get!

Did any of you do the castor oil? I know Cheryl (doulamama) did, but anyone else???
