I was told that I would be high-risk for this pregnancy so I thought home birth wouldn't be an option but I emailed my midwives that I was using during Eli's pregnancy and they said they would be happy to take me on as a client again. But the new law here in Idaho is that I would also have to consult with an OB during my pregnancy and I don't know if my OB will do that so I may have to find a new OB. That kind of sucks but I'm not really attached to the one I have now. There really is no reason for me to be high-risk since the cause of Eli's death was a virus. Anyway, now I just have to convince DH again.

Awesome! I'm glad that homebirth isn't totally out of the question for you. Good luck with convincing DH! Maybe you will be able to get your current OB to agree to the idea!

I'm keeping everything crossed for you!

that sounds great!!! You could check the mothering boards and ask about an OB in your area that would be willing to do that. Or maybe the midwives know. I'm so excited for you!!

I'm glad your midwives are on board! If you can't find an OB could you just stay with the one you have and do concurrent care and just not tell them you're planning on a home birth?

My midwives said they'd be happy to refer me to an OB if needed, I'd just like to see if my current one would be on board with a home birth or not first.

awesome! Our law here is like that. For me my midwife only had to do a phone consult to get me clearance b/c of my recurrent losses and then the fertility surgery, but our vbac mamas have to do a consult, and others. Every 3 months we "import" a vbac friendly OB from a few hours away and she does them on a sunday. It's pretty expensive (250$ I think) but well worth it. A few area midwives will share her and book the day solid!

That's great news! I hope you can find an OB to go along with you. If you want I can ask my relatives there for possible recommendations?

Yay, that's great news! I hope you are able to work it out and convince your DH so you can have the homebirth you want!

That's great! I hope your current OB is on board, but if not that you are able to find a great one
