Long story short, my first baby was born perfect after 12 hours of labor, I arrived at the hospital at 8 cm dilated!!! My doula said to go asap once we called her to tell her that I was in so much pain ( in the bath at home) for over an hour, one BIG LONG CRAZY contraction, non stop, .....which ended up being my cervix diating and baby heading down the friggin birth canal, no kidding I was in sheer agony! So about an hour after we arrive at the hospital, I am fully dilated and informed that my baby girl is posterior facing. They were really pushing the epidural now ( nasty staff, nastier doctor, unreal)....pushing an epi fully dialted can you imagine?? I was shaking and convulsing I was in so much pain with her facing that way, and they are forcing me to get a needle stuck in my spine, ya thats safe. ugh! This is why I wanted a midwife ( couldnt get one) and settled for a doula instead, so I could avoid these people who arent supportive of natural births! At 2 30 pm after maybe a half hour of pushing and she hadnt turned the right way, my baby girl was born at almost 8 lbs. I tore pretty bad ( no episiotomy) and am healing pretty good 10 days later. Unfortunately my placenta was stuck and getting it out was almost as painful as the birth itself!!
I was told when I am pregnant with my next one, to come to the hospital much earlier since I delivered this one so fast being posterior.....! Good news eh? I totally plan to do it drug free again and am looking forward to an even quicker delivery..and hopefully a little less painful O MY GOD!

Congratulations! We'd love to see some pictures if you get a chance!

My first labor was 8 hours, my second was a little less than 6 hours, I figure if I have another, I'm not even going to leave home

Congrats!!! I had a posterior-it hurt like hell (third baby-30 hours)! And she was tiny!

They say it feels like delivering 1 pound heavier than the baby weighs. You gave birth to the equivalent of a 9 pounder because of the presentation (or so they say)!

Congrats!!!

That is so awesome! Congrats and kudos to you for being so incredibly strong! There is nothing worse when you are in agonizing pain for a non-supporter to keep asking you if you want the pain to disappear! YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!
